During an interview, a white substance appeared to fall from the "Angels" singer's nose onto his microphone. He then picked it off the foam guard and continued with the interview.
However, the clip went viral after someone posted it on X with the caption: "What on earth fell out of Robbie William's nose during yesterdays World Cup final broadcast?"
The singer has been open about his struggles with addiction in the past.
"I went to some very, very dark places," he wrote in his 2017 book, Reveal. "The ability to care is taken away in the addiction. That's why so many people die from addiction."
But many viewers wondered if Williams had suffered a relapse. Some had speculated that the white object he picked up may have been cocaine. Williams took to Instagram to address what happened. We have the details below.

The substance that Williams picked up then ended up on his forehead. It happened because he scratched his head with the same hand he picked the object up with.
"When a lump of coke falls off my face, I always stick it to my forehead too, so I don't forget it later and can consume it again afterward," someone wrote.
Another added, "Robbie Williams playing with too much powder."
Robbie Williams Shared What Fell From His Face
The video shows Williams lying shirtless in bed. With his hand on his head, he launched into an monologue.
"I'd just like to apologize for the object that fell onto the microphone yesterday; it was deeply unprofessional," he said.
"And people worried about me, but it's OK because I had several more," the singer continued.
Williams then opened his mouth and stuck out his tongue, cheekily revealing two mints. He then laughed.
Williams had also performed at the World Cup Final before Spain took on Argentina on Sunday, July 19. He sang "Desire," the FIFA World Cup anthem, with Nicole Scherzinger and Italian pop star Laura Pausini.
