Taylor Swift Releases Surprise New Song From The Vault: "Mr. Perfectly Fine"

Just two days before the debut of Taylor Swift's newly recorded version of her Grammy-winning 2008 album, Fearless (Taylor's version), the superstar has surprised us with another new song from the vault. "Mr. Perfectly Fine" is her second previously unreleased song she's debuted following "You All Over Me" (featuring Maren Morris). After Swift released the tracklist, Swifties quickly noticed that Keith Urban will also make an appearance on the album which includes even more previously unreleased songs including "Don't You" and "Bye Bye Baby." It's back to country music Taylor and we are here for it!

"Mr. Perfectly Fine" is definitely a classic old-school T Swift song, calling out an ex-boyfriend for breaking her heart. Fans have been speculating that the song was actually written about Joe Jonas, whom the singer dated around 2008 when he was at the peak of his fame for being one of the Jonas Brothers. After Jonas's current wife, actress Sophie Turner, tweeted about Swift's new song calling it "not NOT a bop," Swift took the opportunity to reply that she was "forever bending the knee for the [queen] of the north." A nod to Turner's role as Sansa Stark on the HBO series Game of Thrones. Well, hello Mrs. Perfectly Fine...seems like that pretty much confirm's everyone's suspicions about who the song is about!

The song really feels like a blast from the past with Swift's lyrics that you could tell were written from the heart. "Good-bye Mr. casually cruel / Mr. everything revolves around you," Swift sings. "I've been Miss misery for the last time / And you're Mr. perfectly fine." You can tell that these days, Swift is a brand new girl after she posted on social media describing her current mindset following her latest albums, folklore and evermore, compared with 2008.

Swift kicked off her re-recordings from her Fearless album with "Love Story" (Taylor's version) which made its big debut in a Match.com ad earlier this year. While we know it wasn't the singer's first choice to re-record her old music after Scooter Braun took control of all of her old masters...we have to say we're really enjoying hearing the music that didn't make it onto the album the first time around.
