A woman who went missing for six months was found giving birth on a subway with the help of passengers. 25-year-old Jenny Saint Pierre's family reported her missing in September 2024. Now the Florida woman has given birth to a baby on February 12 in a New York City subway car.

Around 11:35 AM, a call arrived to the New York Police Department about the young girl giving birth. They reported it being at the 34th Street-Herald Square subway station, said an NYPD detective to People.
Baby Birthed On Subway From Mother Who Went Missing
"The female was conscious and alert, and both mother and child were transported by EMS," said Detective Andrew Lava. According to ABC7, Jenny gave birth on the southbound W train to a baby girl.
One of the witnesses, Bryanna Brown, described the situation as a "miracle." She mentioned how "a lot of things could have went wrong, and thank God that it didn't." Brown had been waiting for her stop with her headphones on like usual until she heard cries for help.
"As we're entering 34th Street, you hear her asking 'help help help,' and then you hear a baby, like, start crying," she said to the outlet. One of the passengers had a pocket knife to cut the umbilical cord. Other witnesses alerted the conductor to stop the train and call 911.
NYC Transit President Demetrius Crichlow shared a statement on how this demonstrated community values. "This is another example of New Yorkers coming together to help each other, assisted by caring transit workers and other responders, reflecting the best of the subway community and this city," he said.
"We are thrilled that both mother and Baby W are doing well, and look forward to welcoming both of them back aboard for a lifetime of reliable, and hopefully less dramatic rides."

After the wild incident, first responders took her to Bellevue Hospital. The authorities later identified her as the missing woman that Hallandale Beach Police was looking for.
The New York Times reported how Stephania, Jenny's sister, recognized her missing sister in the video on social media. "Oh, my God, look at her little face!" she said to the outlet. Stephania also said she recognized Jenny's pink bag and her voice as she spoke in the video. "Oh, my God, I am going to cry! That's my first niece!"
The family had previously sent out a missing person alert in September when Jenny went missing in August. This post on X described how her ex-boyfriend was the last person to see Jenny, and how they knew she was pregnant at the time.
