'Mormon Wives' Star Opens Up About Exit From Show

The 'Mormon Wives' star revealed that she had departed the show - but at the time, she was super cryptic about the reasons why.

The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives is a show full of drama. And, in a really on-brand move, a shock exit has happened - and the reason why is just what you'd expect.

Mikayla Matthews has opened up about why she's leaving the hit reality show. She previously announced her unexpected split from the series on September 14.

At the time, she explained, "I made my decision over a week ago, after hearing some news, that I will not be continuing the show at this moment."

"There's no amount of money worth going against my morals or changing the stance I've had since I first saw and heard the things that made me feel this strongly."

"And for me personally, continuing to directly profit from this behavior feels wrong and unethical. It feels like a disservice to the children, everyone's healing and the millions of people watching."

The 'Mormon Wives' Star Went into More Detail

Of course, what she gave us there was extremely cryptic and without detail. But, as of September 15, she's gotten into more detail about things.

"The ONLY reason I'm leaving the show is because I was told a certain person was coming back," she wrote on Instagram Stories, per People. "I told [prod] before agreeing to do season 6 that I wasn't going to film if that certain someone was back. Because it's UNETHICAL and kids are involved."

She added that she'd "seen and heard" things she "[doesn't] agree with". She specifically mentioned a "barstool video". The video involved her costar, Taylor Frankie Paul, throwing a chair at her ex while a child was there watching. We reported on that when it happened.

She continued, "I filmed 6 cause that person was not there, then we were told she was coming back. I said great, then I will not be participating, god bless and goodbye, haven't filmed a day since."

However, you shouldn't be concerned if you see her on your TV still. That's because she has "contractual obligations" in respect to the stuff she's already filmed.

What do you think about this? Do you think she's justified in leaving?
