Morgan Wallen Reveals Why He Always Assumes The Worst In Everyone

It isn't easy being Morgan Wallen. The Tennessee native is opening up about the downside of his fame, an unfortunate by-product of his massive success.

"I got to be careful who I hang out with," Wallen admits to Apple Music (via Taste of Country). "Not everyone -- everyone is not [a user], but there's a lot of them. I'd say the majority are. And I mean, at this point, I'm going to assume the worst in everyone pretty much, to be honest. I mean, that's just... the way it is."

It's a lesson that Wallen unfortunately learned the hard way that not everyone who seems to want to help him has altruistic intentions.

"I think I learned that lesson a lot," Wallen concedes. "I mean, you'd think I'd have learned it after one time, but it might've just taken me a little more than it should have."

As Wallen attempts to put his past behind him, including his 2024 arrest, the 32-year-old says who he surrounds himself with matters a lot more than it used to.

"There were times where I just didn't really care," Wallen acknowledges. "I just did whatever I wanted and whatever. But you get older, you have a kid, and you start thinking about how that starts impacting other people and not just yourself."

Morgan Wallen's 'I'm The Problem' Album

Wallen's 37-track I'm The Problem album is out. The record is a combination of various styles and genres Wallen enjoys. It also offers a personal glimpse into his own life, with songs like "Superman" and "I Got Better," the latter one Wallen says is the most revealing glimpse into his own life.

"'I got better since you got gone' would be how I feel right now," Wallen says "I'd say that's one that really came from my heart, and it can mean many things. It's not just a song to a girl, it could be a song to anything that's holding you back. That's why I like that song so much.

"For a long time I had a lot of things holding me back," he admits. "I've finally said goodbye to a lot of those things, and I'm proud of the results that have come from doing that. So, I'd say 'I Got Better' is my most personal song right now."
