Morgan Evans on Divorce From Kelsea Ballerini and How He Bounced Back

Getting divorced when you are a celebrity is not pleasant. People can be very inquisitive about all the down-and-dirty, nitty-gritty personal details. Sometimes one ex-spouse badmouths the other. Things can become pretty ugly and nasty. Australian country music singer Morgan Evans would probably agree.

He was married to Kelsea Ballerini from 2017 to 2022. Their breakup led to him getting some heat from the public and dealing with the fallout. Now, however, Evans is bouncing back with a new album (Steel Town, which dropped on Friday, March 20) and a new love (singer Laci Kaye Booth).

Evans Believes That You Have To Keep Going After Divorce

The singer was a guest recently on Sirius XM's The Highway hosted by Cody Alan. He freely admitted that the divorce from Ballerini was painful. Still, he is taking a philosophical, laid-back, forwaod-looking stance. He told Alan. "It's an awful thing for anyone to have to go through, and I wouldn't wish it upon anyone, but I guess like everything, you know, life goes on."

Evans added, "You know, 'I think you're going to look back at this and you're going to be so grateful for every second. When you're in it, it doesn't feel like that at all. It kind of feels like an eye-roll-y kind of like, 'Of course you would say that,' but man, I'm so grateful for where I'm at in life right now."

Divorce Can Help People Ultimately Find "New Resilience," He Feels

Morgan Evans was tested by the high-profile split with his ex. He has come back even stronger. He shared this with Cody Alan. "You find new kind of strength in yourself, new resilience, and I think you really find who your real mates are as well and who the real genuine people you have in your life are. I feel like they're all the most important parts of life."

For him, the bottom line is this: "I try to find the hope in it, try to see the positive things and, yeah, man, life goes on."

As for his relationship with Laci Kaye Booth, Morgan Evans is prudently staying tight-lipped for now. "I don't want to go into too much detail about that. She's a private person and I think I've learned a lot from my previous experiences in terms of sharing too much."
