Montgomery Gentry hasn't released an album since Rebels on the Run in 2011, but the short preview of Folks Like Us proves their new music is worth the wait.

The seasoned country duo released a short clip of "Better For It" last week. With one listen to the short preview of "Better For It", it's obvious that Folks Like Us will be another successful venture for Montgomery Gentry.

Sticking to traditional Montgomery Gentry Style, the track is a classic country ballad full of chill guitars, captivating lyrics and a smooth vocal line. The lyrics paint an older, wiser figure looking back on heartbreak. After a subtle verse to set up the story, the building chorus brings expresses hope and triumph.

"I'm still getting beat and banged up / Still get hung up on my hangups / Somewhere between the man I was and the man I want to be / I don't know the road I'm taking / But I know my destination / 'Cause an angel out there still believes in me."

This is Montgomery Gentry's first release under their new label, Blaster Records. The album was produced by Michael Knox, known for his previous work on Jason Aldean and Thomas Rhett. Folks Like Us will drop on June 9th.
