After a Missouri mom allegedly starved her toddler to death for two days, she has spoken out with a rather atrocious excuse. 21-year-old Alyssa Wehmeyer claimed she abandoned her one-year-old without food or water due to a migraine.

Because of a little headache, Wehmeyer miraculously forgot about her infant's existence. After 43 hours, she awoke last Friday to find her child unresponsive with blue lips. Tri-City Herald obtained the court documents and revealed the shocking details.
Mom Gives Horrible Excuse After Starving Toddler For Two Days
Authorities have charged the mother with endangering the welfare of a child, resulting in death, as per the outlet. Wehmeyer allegedly last fed her child around 5 PM on February 26 and put them to bed at 6:30 PM a day later without food.
Around seven hours passed, and the baby woke up in tears. In response. Wehmeyer held them for half an hour before putting them back in the crib. By February 28 at around 1 PM, she found her child not breathing.
Not only that, but she failed to change their diaper too. According to the probable cause affidavit, this resulted in "severe blisters" due to diaper rash.
When questioned about why she failed to care for her child, the mother blamed it on the migraine. She claimed that she would've brought her child to the doctor "but she had a migraine." So, instead of caring for her baby, she took three Excedrin and a nap. This pain-relieving drug helps with headaches and migraines.
The police have since arrested the mother, jailing her in Scott County on a $100,000 bond. Her first court appearance was today, March 6, as KFVS reported. Court records showed that Wehmeyer waived the charge readings and requested a public defender.
Since then, they have scheduled a bond and counsel status hearing for March 17. The Cape Girardeau Police Department has now requested for the Missouri State Highway Patrol to investigate after finding the death suspicious.
We'll have to wait and see as the investigation continues if Wehmeyer receives the punishment she deserves. She neglected her infant for an egregious amount of time; anyone her age should know how to properly care for a baby. The excuse of a migraine is despicable and unworthy of any support.
