While visiting a convention in Long Beach, Lea Encarnacion, had a product applied to her hair. The suit claims that it was left on for far too long, and incorrectly applied by the stylist. The results were devastating to her scalp, leaving savage burns, and permanent baldness.

According to the model, the bleaching product was negligently applied to her hair. The strong bleach was, according to the lawsuit, left on her scalp far too long. Images from the court case show the bloody and disfigured scalp of the model.

Now, she is looking to sue for 'general negligence, personal injury, and product liability.' She has a permanent heart-shaped burn on her scalp. No hair is able to grow there, and the scalp is bloody and scabbed.

Beauty Company Issues Cross Complaint To Disfigured Model

The company allegedly responsible for the savage burns on the model's head, Conair, has entered a cross-complaint. They claim that the company responsible signed a waiver before the product was used. Their cross-complaint states that Conair entered into an asset purchase agreement with Transom.

This means that Transom agreed to indemnify Conair for any damages relating to any Rusk products. So, despite the fact that the model has been left disfigured, it is not the problem of the beauty company. Instead, the people who put the show on are responsible for damages.

Either way, this young woman has been left with some pretty severe scars on her head while the two companies squabble about responsibility. She may be left without hair on the affected area for the rest of her life.

At present, it appears that a settlement has been arranged out of the court. Hopefully, she will be duly compensated for her loss of future earnings, and damage to her appearance. After all, her looks are what made her money. It's important to check whatever beauty products you are using have been properly tested before using them. Bleach can be a very dangerous product.
