Before their July 4 matchup against the Detroit Tigers, the Texas Rangers set a Guinness World Record for the largest glass of beer ever poured.

Stationed outside of Globe Life Field, a 12-foot glass beer stein was filled with 600 gallons of Budweiser. Fox 4 reported that it took roughly an hour and 45 minutes to fill the massive glass structure.

A Guinness World Records representative confirmed the record, which surpassed a 2014 record of a 550-gallon beer glass poured by beer fans in the United Kingdom.

Jim Cochrane, Chief Business Officer for the Texas Rangers, said Anheuser-Busch proposed collaborating with the MLB team for the company's 150th anniversary. After deliberating, the Rangers pitched swinging for the fences with a record-breaking beer glass.

"This is the idea that our staff here at the Texas Rangers came up with. Anheuser-Busch said, 'We love that, we want to do it,'" Cochrane said.

The gigantic beer glass was created as part of the Rangers' plans to commemorate America's 250th anniversary.

Baseball fans were also served discounted $1.50 beers at Globe Life Field in honor of Budweiser's 150th anniversary.

Additionally, fans were treated to other attractions and activations. This included the opportunity to purchase a drink at outdoor pop-up bars, create custom baseball cards, and enjoy music curated by a live DJ.

Rangers Hall of Fame Public Address Announcer Chuck Morgan served as master of ceremonies throughout the afternoon.

Baseball Fans React to Record-Breaking Beer Glass

In awe of the 600-gallon-containing beer glass, baseball fans weighed in on the spectacle on Instagram.

"The founding fathers envisioned this," a user said of the 12-foot structure.

"Put it up next to the World Series trophy," another user wrote.

Another user added: "Everything is bigger in Texas."
