United States Senator Mitch McConnell is headed back home after a recent health scare landed him in the hospital.

Back in June, McConnell was found unresponsive in his home and was transported to the emergency room via ambulance.
McConnell Headed Home After Months in The Hospital
In a statement on Friday *(August 7), Senator McConnell revealed that he would be leaving the hospital. And returning to his home in Washington, D.C. He also expressed gratitude for all of the "support" and "well wishes" he received from people during his health scare and recovery.
"Elaine and I are grateful for the many well wishes and support from friends, colleagues, and Kentuckians, and for the attentive care I've received from excellent doctors, nurses, therapists, and hospital staff," McConnell wrote in a statement on Tuesday as caught by the New York Post.
However, McConnell's return from the hospital is far from the end of his road to recovery. In fact, it is just the beginning. The Senator said that he will have to attend "intensive" physical therapy sessions. But he also says that he has no intention of abandoning his work duties.
"On the advice of my doctors, I'll maintain an intensive regimen of physical therapy from home during the state work period, and I'll continue to engage with my staff and colleagues on important Senate business," McConnell also said in the statement.
Of course, people had a lot to say about McConnell's statement on social media.
"If I took this many sick days from work, they'd deny me a raise on my yearly eval and put me on probation," one user wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Yeah, too cool to do a presser from outside the hospital. Or a video call from home. After weeks of only using letters to the community," a second user chimed in.
Over the years, McConnell has had several on-air mishaps where he has appeared to be disoriented. In some cases, to the point where his staff needs to rush him off the stage. So when McConnell had been off the grid for months, many people feared the worst.
However, it looks like the Senator is back on the road to recovery.
