According to the Yazzo Police Chief Terry Gann, as reported by WLBT, it is unclear how the suspect, a student, got hold of the edibles in the first place. Edibles are described by the American Addiciton Centers as food products infused with marijuana.

The six students who ingested the edibles were transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital for treatment. Since then, two of the students have been released, with the rest of them being expected to be released shortly. While the identity of the student is unknown, Chief Gann stated that the student and even their parents could be charged in connection to the incident.
