If you've ever tried getting out of a hammock, you know how difficult it can be. An Ohio mother has been found dead in a hammock after going off trail and disappearing for a month.

Vendula Wendy Rose had packed up her things and taken herself on a camping trip in the Talladega National Forest. Before she left she handed in her key at work. She also told her family and friends she was leaving some personal items in a safe deposit box.
She set off for her hike on September 24th. The Ohio mother was expected back on October 2nd and was declared missing until she was found dead on December 4th. Police, family, and friends had been searching for her before a hunter discovered her body on November 30th.
Due to the time the Ohio mother had been dead in the hammock, it took the forensic teams a while to identify her. "I appreciate the hard work that Coroner Downs and the Alabama Department of Forensic Science have done to confidently confirm this for the family," Sherrif John Daniel said.
The Ohio Hiker Was Suffering With Mental Health Problem Before She Was Found Dead
The Ohio mother had been struggling with her mental health before she disappeared on the hike. Her car was found in a local car park on October 4th. It contained notes that indicated she may have been having some kind of episode.
The statement released by the police noted that they found "multiple notes that were deemed as abnormal for Rose unless she was having a mental health crisis." Despite employing dog and search teams in the area, it turned up nothing. The Ohio woman wasn't found for months, turning up dead, in her hammock.
It was just before Thanksgiving that her daughter posted this heartfelt message. "The quiet absence of my mom will echo off my walls. The memories of years past will haunt me in my home while I make pierogi dough with only my kitties for company." Only a few days later she was found.
A loved mother and wife, she will be missed by her family. The search is now over and her family can mourn her in peace.
