Missing Mom Found Safe Months After Meeting Man Online

A missing woman has been found safe and sound according to a recent statement from Atlanta Police.

Florida woman named Katrice Simmons had been reported missing by her family in May. Katrice's family said they hadn't heard from her since she moved to Atlanta with a man she met online. Her calls kept going straight to voicemail. And the man whom she had moved in with claimed not to know about her whereabouts. On August 18, the family filed a missing persons report after months of no contact.

Missing Woman Found Months After Disappearance 

Atlanta police said that the woman had been found safe and sound on August 24.

"Ms. Simmons was located yesterday in good health," the Atlanta Police Department confirmed in a statement to Newsweek on Tuesday (August 25).

After locating her mother, Simmons' daughter, Shaquansia Love, expressed gratitude that she was found safe and sound.

"I have no words but thank you God my MOMMY has been found. Thank you everyone for everything I'm speechless there's a God."

She also said that she could not disclose her whereabouts for safety reasons. 

"Hi family and friends. I cannot due to safety reasons disclose where my mom is . [She is] is SAFE and that's what's important," she continued.

understand you all want to know but this whole situation was bad and I just thank God my mom is alive. She has been through a lot but again my family and I thank you for whatever role you played in my mom getting FOUND."

Felicia Pettiway, Simmons' sister, also issued a statement in a social post on Monday (August 24) confirming that Simmons was found. And thanked everyone for their help

"My sister was found and we are about to lay eyes on her. Thanks everyone again God is truly amazing." She said. "She sends her love to each of you we have a long road ahead of us but my sister has support. Thank you all again for your prayers and support and love."
