The voluntarily missing Hawaiian woman, Hanna Kobayashi, has still not given any reasons for her disappearance, but it appears she could have gotten secretly married in some kind of visa scam. The plot thickens.

Sara Azari, the family's attorney, released a statement recently, about new evidence that has been uncovered. She stated that they "kindly ask everyone to avoid jumping to conclusions or spreading unverified claims." So, excuse me while I jump to conclusions and speculate on some unverified claims.
Since she went missing in November, Hawaiin Kobayashi has once more turned up, crossing into Mexico. She had full volition, her passport, her baggage, and a smile on her face. After the footage showed up, police put her disappearance down to a voluntary act. They believe she wanted to get off the grid for a while and take some time out.
Despite what the police believe, her family doesn't agree. They are continuing the search, and new evidence, uncovered by the Los Angeles Magazine, might point toward Kobayashi getting married before her disappearance.
New Evidence Suggests Hawaiian Kobayashi Got Married
The evidence cited in the Los Angeles Magazine states that Kobayashi may have gotten married for money before her Mexican escape. The magazine claims "Kobayashi was apparently scammed out of the proceeds of the purported immigration scheme possibly concocted by her former partner, who left Maui with Kobayashi on Nov. 8 and landed at LAX." These are some pretty big assumptions
The magazine goes on to say that Kobayashi was on the flight with her new husband who she had secretly married. The story is just getting more and more complicated.
This all comes from an apparently discovered immigration document found by Kobayashi's mother. She turned them over to law enforcement, and her attorney made a statement about the situation. "We want to stress that the family has not publicly announced any information regarding an alleged marriage because we did not have the facts or the necessary documents to verify the legitimacy of this information." she clarifies.
Currently, it is impossible to confirm if Kobayashi was married to a secret husband before the flight. The whole thing could be a ploy to sort visas. Or, it could just be an attempt to get away from it all. Only time will tell. In the meantime, keep sending her well wishes and cash on Venmo. She may need it for her secret honeymoon.
