When Belva Day went out to pay her bills and do some shopping in Mountain Home, Jacksonville, she never returned. Nobody had any idea where she had gone. It appeared she had simply vanished. She doesn't use a debit card, so she couldn't be tracked that way. Nobody saw hide nor hair of her since her fateful trip to do her chores.
Speaking about the missing 95-year-old, a member of a search team said, "I mean she could be lost. She could be just still wandering the streets and driving around."
However, just recently, a car has been pulled from a ravine near an Air Force base in Arkansas. Initial investigations are underway, and it is highly likely that the body belongs to the missing 95-year-old woman. Although they can't yet make a completely positive identification, it is suspected that this is the missing elderly lady.
Car Recovery Under Way
The Mountain City chief who had been heading up the investigation told KTLO, "We were notified by law enforcement on the base that they went out, investigated, found the body and car." They quickly made their way out there to investigate the possible location of the missing 95-year-old.
"It had been wrecked out on a ravine in a remote location on the air force base. A maintenance crew had located it," he continued. The car and body were recovered. However, it may take some time to identify the body, as it had been there for some time.
The search for the missing 95-year-old woman is ongoing, with numerous agencies searching. At present, the body in the car is the most likely situation. However, the air base she was found beside is a solid 135 miles south of her home.
This is a remarkably long way to drive. But, if she wasn't in sound mind, then it is very possible she may have got lost before driving off the ravine. The forensics will eventually find out if the car belonged to the missing 95-year-old woman.
