During CMA Fest last week in Nashville, Miranda Lambert's nonprofit, MuttNation Foundation, managed to find forever homes for 56 lucky dogs.
Founded in 2009 by Miranda Lambert and her mother, Bev Lambert, MuttNation works hard to facilitate adoptions through animal shelters, help displaced animals when natural disasters occur (like Hurricane Harvey) and educate people about adoption and what it takes to be a good pet parent.
MuttNation often sets up adoption drives at Lambert's shows and major venues like the Grand Ole Opry. For the third year in a row, the organization joined forces with the Nashville Humane Association to hold an adoption event at CMA Fest's Fan Fair X at the Music City Center. Their pop-up adoption area was complete with a mini-dog park where festival goers could pass by and look into the eyes of shelter pets needing new homes. Needless to say, that stopped many animal lovers in their tracks.

Once potential adopters were approved, they were able to take their new family members home. Between the tail wags, the hugs and the capture of the first new family portrait, the photos and videos of pups and their adoptive parents will absolutely melt your heart.
For 56 rescue dogs and their people, CMA Fest 2018 has completely changed their lives. Since the dogs' new owners found their soon-to-be best friends at the country music fest, it's only appropriate that many of the dogs were named after country icons. The Mutt Nation Foundation named some of the canines after Tammy Wynette, Keith Urban, Zac Brown, Luke Bryan, Toby Keith, George Strait, and of course, Lambert herself.
Over the past three years, the CMA Music Festival event has homed over 150 animals, and thousands more have been helped by MuttNation. You can join the foundation on their website by donating $25 to assist in funding their programs. Find more information about MuttNation's mission how to get involved here.
