Lambert met McLoughlin on the set of Good Morning America in November 2018. Just a few months later, the couple shared that they had secretly gotten married, to the shock of Lambert's fans.
"In honor of Valentine's Day," Lambert wrote on that day seven years ago, "I wanted to share some news. I met the love of my life. And we got hitched!" She accompanied their wedding pictures, on a farm in Nashville, with a hashtag that read, "#theone."
In an interview with Theo Von, Lambert talked about the perks of being with someone who's not in the spotlight. "I am such a big stickler for: don't surround yourself with 'yes' people," she shared. "He comes into my world, but he tells me the truth... He doesn't sugarcoat, he sees everything for what it is."
McLoughlin was actually an NYPD officer before he met Miranda, and now, he acts as part of her security team. She told Joe Rogan, "He retired after eight years because I dragged him down to Tennessee and now Texas. And now he says 'y'all.' The man who used to break up fights on 42nd Street now says 'y'all' with a straight face."
Honestly, they seem kind of perfect for each other. Happy seventh wedding anniversary to Miranda and Brandon!
Miranda Mentions a Special Moment She Had With Ex-Husband, Blake Shelton
Before her current marriage to Brandon McLoughlin, Miranda was married to country singer Blake Shelton for four years. All in all, they were together for nearly a decade. The pair never really cited a reason for the divorce, but it's suspected that travelling and conflicting schedules played a role.
Although Lambert doesn't often talk about her relationship with Shelton, in an interview, she recently spoke about a special moment they shared while writing the song "Over You" together. Although Lambert ended up being the one to record the song, it's actually written about Blake's brother, Richie, who died in a car accident in the 90s.
"My ex-husband, Blake, had lost a brother, and it's one of those moments where even if you're married to someone, sometimes you find something new about them..." she shared with Kelleigh Bannon. "Dudes don't open up about things, but he started telling me about the experience of it all."
"It was one of the most special moments of my life, but also one of the hardest..." she admitted. "The victory was knowing it helped [Blake] and his family heal in a way they hadn't before."
