While the Pistol Annies have taken a hiatus, Miranda Lambert and Ashley Monroe haven't stopped being friends and making music together. Whether it has been Lambert lending her vocals to Monroe's album, The Blade, or Monroe popping up at Lambert shows for special cameos, the pair has proven to be inseparable -- in the best of times and in the worst of times.
This past weekend at the Country to Country Festival (C2C) in the United Kingdom, Lambert and Monroe shared their friendship with fans. During Lambert's March 11 show, she asked Monroe to join her on stage for a performance of James Taylor's classic hit "You've Got a Friend."
Monroe joined the party as Lambert shared with the showgoers what the two girlfriends had been doing while overseas. "We've shopped a lot and drank a lot, and played some music, so we'll be back sometime soon," she said. "Y'all sing along if you know this one."
Alternating lines of the verses, the two serenaded one another, exuding the type of friendship that most of us can only wish to find with somebody else. Perfectly completing the puzzle was a solo acoustic guitar and blissful harmonies supplied by the singers who quite obviously have shared the spotlight many times before.
