Miley Cyrus Says Flickering Lights Were a Sign From Dolly Parton After Her Death

Pop star Miley Cyrus believes that her late godmother, Dolly Parton, is still communicating with her from beyond the grave.

Cyrus let her guard down and got emotional with her fans during a performance at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday night (October 18). She opened up about how she is navigating the sudden loss of the country music icon.

During the performance, Miley told fans that she has a "Dolly mannequin" in her bedroom that the Jolene creator previously gave to her as a Christmas gift.

"It's dressed like her, it's built like her, and when I was by myself, I actually took my phone, and I played 'Jolene' for her on video — Just holding it up to the mannequin and lit a candle," she said in a transcript obtained by New York Post's Page Six.

Miley Believes Dolly Communicated With Her After Her Death

Miley then revealed that she had a supernatural interaction with the late singer. And that Parton actually communicated with her after she died.

"I put a flower down for her, and I said, 'Dolly, if you're here right now, flicker the lights,'" Cyrus continued. "And I didn't say anything out loud, but the entire hallway started flickering."

Cyrus' comments led to a lot of reactions from fans on social media.

"Celebrity is a delusion of grandeur that can break out of nowhere. All the money and fame can go away, and then you're just left a crazy person," one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.

"How disgusting to be exploiting her legacy, but we always knew the industry is all about hijacking legacies to exploit," a second user chimed in.

"I believe it. I had a departed friend communicate with me when I was just 10 in a dream. It was very real," a third person recalled.

Parton passed away in August after a brief battle with cancer. May she continue to rest in peace.
