Mile 0 Fest, held Feb. 7-10, 2018, kicks off festival season early in Key West, Fla. Organizers went all out, booking an impressive cross-section of roots and red dirt country talents, representing the past and present. Each act brings its talents to the Truman Waterfront Park Amphitheater, with intimate acoustic performances by songwriters and band leaders slated for nearby bars.
Artists with breakthrough years in 2017, including John Moreland, Sunny Sweeney and the Turnpike Troubadours, highlight a stacked lineup. Co-headliners needing no introduction in years past include Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson's favorite country singer, Cody Jinks, and the coolest Americana band before Americana bands were cool, Old 97's. Other high-points of a lineup without a dud includes legends (Ray Wylie Hubbard) and torchbearers (Wade Bowen) of Texas' country music legacy. Unbelievably, that quick blast of must-see acts barely scratches the surface of what should be a can't miss festival.
