The legendary boxer sat down with Sean Hannity on Fox Nation's "Sean" podcast series. There, he talked about his fight against Jake Paul, Donald Trump, and his love for pigeons. Hannity went on to explain that alongside the ferocious Iron Mike, there is the sensitive and loving Mike Tyson.
After gifting the boxer a little pigeon toy, Hannity asked the boxer how many pigeons he owns.
Mike Tyson simply answered, "two hundred, a little more."
He elaborated more on what makes his pigeons special, "My pigeons are pedigree pigeons. You know who the great-great-grandparents are."
His love and adoration for pigeons has been with him all his life. He went over again his first encounter with them. "Some guys were bullying me, and then they -- they had convinced me into grabbing some crates to help them move somewhere. Then when I went there, I saw the birds. They had the birds in this raggedy little coop. And I fell in love with the birds."
A heartwarming story that led to him owning a "big complex" where he houses over 200 of them.
Mike Tyson Spend Half Of His Day With His Pigeons
"And how much time a day do you spend with them?" asked Hannity.
"I spend more than half the day with them," he answered, although later elaborated. "Periodically, not one particular time, but periodically I'm in there. Half my day in the coop."
What makes this crazier is that his extensive time with his pigeons does pay off, as they can recognize him and respond to him.
"They know who I am, yeah," Tyson responded to Hannity asking.
"Sometimes when I come near they're hungry and they fly on top of me," he said. Although they're free to fly, the pigeons return for feeding and mating.
Mike Tyson spends so much time with his pigeons as he's not really doing much else, he explained, "I don't do much stuff. I do interviews. I do some filming, a little filming, and stuff."
I mean if I had that sort of time on my hands, I know I'd be spending time with the creatures I love, so no judgement here.
