It's been a quarter-century since Myers played the shagadelic spy, but the Hollywood actor confirmed that a fourth installment of the franchise is coming.

During an appearance on Trevor Noah's World Cup Watch Party that streamed live Tuesday, a fan asked, "Are we ever going to see an Austin Powers 4?"

Myers quickly issued an exciting, one-word reply: "Yes."

Coincidentally, Myers revived his iconic Austin Powers villain Dr. Evil this week in a new Verizon commercial. The mobile advertisement also featured Seth Green, Mindy Sterling, and Rob Lowe reprising their roles.

Austin Powers Debuted Nearly 30 Years Ago

Austin Powers, played by Mike Myers, is a British spy who loves flashy clothing and women as much as fighting crime. The enigmatic playboy debuts in Austin Powers: International Man of Mystery (or simply Austin Powers), a titular 1997 American spy parody film directed by Jay Roach.

Over the years, Roach and Myers have teased another sequel for the popular franchise. However, aside from Myers' one-word response during the World Cup, there has not been concrete evidence that the James Bond-spoofing franchise will return.

Clint Howard, who appears in all three films as the radar operator alerting his team to Dr. Evil's uniquely shaped spacecraft, would not hesitate to join for a fourth Austin Powers. "I would step up and show up immediately," Howard tells THR. "The first Austin Powers was just this little comedy, but I had a great time. I get asked about Austin Powers all the time at pop conventions."

In 2007, Myers told IGN that there was a "fully conceived idea" for Austin Powers 4 that would center on Dr. Evil's perspective. More recently, in 2024, the Shrek voice actor told Entertainment Weekly that an Austin Powers sequel may be in the works.

"I can neither confirm nor deny the existence or non-existence of such a project," said Myers.
