Brittany Walker, 34, and Samuel Payton, 62, were charged with torture after both of them allegedly assaulted a wheelchair-bound man in Michigan. The violent attack escalated further, as Walker and Payton allegedly tried to force bleach down the victim's throat.

According to Fox 2, the incident took place on January 29 at an apartment located on Conant Street. Allegedly, Walker and Payton got into a heated argument with the unidentified 44-year-old wheelchair-bound man. The argument turned into an alleged assault at the hands of Walker and Payton.
However, the worst was yet to come. Allegedly, Walker and Payton began torturing the disabled man by attempting to force him to ingest bleach. According to Poison.org, concentrated bleach consumption can lead to irreparable gastrointestinal damage and even death.
The disabled victim was transported to a local hospital, according to officials. As a result of the alleged assault, the man suffered a cranial bleed and a left orbital wall fracture.
According to jail records obtained by the New York Post, Brittany Walker and Samuel Payton were arrested on February 20, almost a month after the alleged attack.
According to the Centre Daily Times, Walker was charged with torture, first-degree vulnerable adult abuse, assault with intent to do great bodily harm, and domestic violence. Payton was charged with torture and assault with intent to do great bodily harm. Reportedly, Walker was first charged with felonious assault, but the charge was changed to domestic violence in April, as per prosecutors.
The relationship between the suspects and the victim remains unclear. Walker and Payton are scheduled to appear in court on May 28.

In a similar bleach-related case, eight days before their court appearance, on May 20, Matthew Johnson will be executed for the brutal murder of 76-year-old convenience store clerk Nancy Harris.
According to KFMX, back on May 20, 2012, Johnson poured bleach or lighter fluid on Harris. Minutes before the attack, Harris had opened the Fina Whip-In store in Garland, Texas. Despite Harris opening the register, she was set on fire by Johnson, who calmly exited the store.
Days later, Nancy Harris was taken off life support. Exactly 13 years after murdering Harris, Matthew Johnson will be put to death via lethal injection on May 20, 2025.
