Although it's accepted that the harsh winds are primarily responsible for the awful wildfires, there have been lots of noise online that the powers-that-be in California could have done more to help prevent and quell the fires.
To express his frustrations, comedian Rapaport thought it best to post a frustrated and flustered rant instead of doing anything a little more substantial. He posted the video to Instagram, to very mixed reviews.
Stammering and rambling aside, Rapaport's main points were that "Gavin with the good hair Newsom" (he really enjoyed that phrase) was not concerned enough with preventing the wildfires from happening in the first place.
"You're talking about Trump this, Trump that. He's not even president," he said, mocking the democrat's political concerns. "We want to 'Trump-proof' California," he said mockingly, "how about fireproofing California?"
"This is on you!"
"You don't get anymore mistakes," he said, saying his failure of prevention is the last straw, "you're done, you're fired."
He also mocked Newsom over him stating that he wishes to learn from his mistakes, "Get the f--k out of here."
If only he channeled his anger into a video highlighting why he thinks this is the governor's fault. Instead, he threw a tantrum laden with insults.
Internet Reacts To Michael Rapaport Ranting At Gavin Newsom
People took to the comments to express their opinions on his rant and the matter at hand. The reviews are incredibly mixed.
"This is absolutely unhinged rambling, delving into school yard insults to try and make a point. It's like listening to Trump. He's gone full Zuckerberg," writes one, disparaging his rant.
"He's ruined California and is going to spend the next few weeks deflecting and trying to save his political career," comments another, agreeing with the point of the video.
"I didn't know Governors control the weather," one sarcastically says. Although weather is the primary cause of wildfires, the government are in control of the preventative measures that should be in place.
"God himself could not stop those fires from spreading the way they did. Those winds were no joke. Unless Newsome is controlling the weather how is it his fault?" writes another, echoing the thoughts of many others.
