Some people are committed to getting justice. Most of those people wear a uniform, be it police, army, or other governmental organizations. Yet, Luis Hernandez, an officer for the Miami-Dade Police, has taken things one step further.
Hernandez, a talented MMA fighter, made his UFC debut at UFC Vegas 121. Those in charge of booking the bout clearly knew what they were doing. He was matched up against Sedriques Dumas, a former convicted felon.
For Hernandez, this must have felt like another day on the job. Because once that bell rang, Hernandez got straight to work. Within 57 seconds of the fight being underway, the officer had wrapped things up, securing a win in his first bout.

While this may have been Hernandez's first win in the UFC, his professional record has now moved to 9-0. Impressively, each of his fights has ended with a finish, meaning none have gone to a judges' decision.
Luis Hernandez Didn't Suffer With Nerves in His UFC Debut
You'd think that a fighter going into their first bout with the UFC would be awash with nerves. Yet, when speaking during his post-fight news conference, Hernandez noted that he was more nervous when competing on the UFC's Contender Series.
"I was more nervous coming into my contender series fight," Hernandez said, via Yahoo! Sports. "You want to put on a performance... I know what I'm capable of. People haven't seen one-eighth of what I'm capable of... I know this guy's a kickboxer, I know he's lost by submission... I love to grapple; I love to strike... I'm just trying to get in here and get these finishes."
With such an impressive win, Hernandez will undoubtedly be lined up for another bout in the coming months. Still, not every fight will be this easy for him as he continues to climb the rankings. It'll be interesting to watch the officer's career unfold.
