On March 26, Carter Vandrasik, meteorologist for BigCountryHomepage, proposed to his girlfriend, Ashton Cheatham, live on air.
In such a sweet and tender moment, he bends the knee and asks her to marry him as the usual forecast backdrop was replaced by a collage of romantic candles.
Vandrasik had brought his girlfriend on air under the guise of an "interview." As she hails from Tennessee but had moved to Texas, he told her he was going to interview her about the weather differences between the two states.
But he had a different question on his mind.
He's bashful as he introduces her to his audience. Although Vandrasik quickly switches up the mood and starts talking to his soon-to-be fiancé. Candles play on the green screen to his girlfriend's confusion, and he begins talking about their relationship.
Eventually, he asks the big question, and she bursts into tears before embracing.

Cloudy, With A Chance Of Love
Per the outlet, the pair had been dating for two years, including a whopping 8-month period of long-distance. Not even the better part of a year's distance could keep them apart, however.
The ring was also shared with the outlet. On the ring is engraved a Bible verse that means a lot to the couple. 1 John 4:19, which reads, "We love because he first loved us."
During his proposal, he also talks about God, and believes that it's through His grace that they're together.
Carter Vandrasik said, "I am so excited to share this special day with those who have supported us back home and those who have supported me here in Abilene. It just felt right to share another special part of my life with those who have built a connection with me through weather and KRBC."
His fiancé added, "I was very shocked and surprised, and definitely wasn't expecting it. I love Carter so much and am very excited for our coming adventures together."
I'm sure the happy couple have even happier days ahead. Congratulations to them both!
