Per a Tuesday (October 20) report from TMZ, one of the park's attractions suffered a malfunction. The Millennium Force roller coaster at Six Flags-owned Cedar Point in Ohio had a small metal bracket become dislodged from a ride vehicle and land in a guest area, leading to the ride being shut down on Friday (October 16).

Per the report, there were no injuries or fatalities that occurred as a result of the malfunction.
PEOPLE talked to two witnesses who were at the scene of the incident. Ryan Rowton of Michigan said that initially he believed one of the riders' phones had fallen out of their pocket.
"At first we thought it was a phone, but a phone wouldn't make that sound. Hitting cement. So we sat there for a while trying to figure out what this was," Rowton said to the outlet.
Matthew Bickley, who was with Rowton at the time the metal object was dislodged, said that it landed in an area where guests were susceptible to injuries.
"That part landed where it's accessible to people, you know, there's no catch net there and things of that nature to stop it," he said.
With this being just the latest incident involving the theme park company, people had a lot to say about it on social media.
"How about you guys close all Six Flags for 2 weeks and do a thorough check on each ride. Twice," one person wrote on X, formerly known as Twitter.
"Exhibit 5,000,000 why I will never ride a roller coaster again in my life," a second user chimed in.
"Man, Six Flags parks are just falling apart! It's so sad. I loved going there when I was younger," a third user remarked.
The Cedar Point incident comes just days after 42-year-old Atlanta Public Schools teacher Hassan Jihad Ibn Kariem of Atlanta was killed at Six Flags Over Georgia. He was pronounced dead after being ejected from "The Goliath," a popular ride at Six Flags.
Per Fox Business, the ride at Cedar Point reopened Saturday after maintenance inspections and required safety checks.
