Musical talent seems to run in the Haggard bloodline. In a recent television appearance, two of Merle Haggard's sons, Ben and Noel, performed a few of their father's songs. The half-brothers beautifully covered "The Running Kind" and "I'm A Lonesome Fugitive" as a tribute to Merle.

Country's Family Reunion, a TV program that brings on country music stars to perform and talk, recently featured Ben and Noel. They chose to honor their father's legacy in song.

Merle, who passed away in April, was married five times during his life. Noel is from his first marriage to Leona Hobbs. Ben is from his fifth marriage with Theresa Ann Lane, whom he wed in 1993.

Noel has been singing and releasing music for two decades. He put out his very first album, titled One Lifetime, in 1997. Ben has been playing music since he was a kid and is now starting to make his way in the music industry. In fact, just this year, he signed a songwriting deal with BMI.

Ben and Noel have been touring together with their father's band, The Strangers. The brothers are carrying on their dad's legacy by performing his music on the tour. Their next stop is Redding, Calif. on Oct. 7.
