18-year-old Lalit Patidar from India has broken the world record for having the hairiest face. Hair covers over 95% of this teenager's face due to a rare condition called hypertrichosis. You may know this condition better as werewolf syndrome, which causes an abnormal amount of hair growth.

Guiness World Records reported on Patidar's achievement for the hairest face on a person (male). His head has 201.72 hairs per square centimetre, and other than hair, you can only spot his eyes and lips in photos.

Unfortunately, Patidar is no stranger to witnesses staring at him and making cruel comments, but "he's overcome" it. The teenager told Guinness that on his first day of school, the other children were terrified of him.

"They were scared of me but when they started knowing me and talking to me they understood I was not so different from them," he said. "And it was just on the outside that I looked different, but I'm not different inside."

To receive this achievement, Patidar had to fly to Milan, Italy to make an appearance on Lo Show dei Record. On Guinness' show, a local trichologist measured the hairs on his face to determine whether or not he'd win the record.

The trichologist had to shave small portions of his face to make accurate measurements during the assessment. Luckily, they discovered that Patidar broke the record, leaving him "speechless," as he described it. "I don't know what to say because I'm very happy to get this recognition."

Patidar has boldly put himself on the internet without fear of backlash by running a YouTube channel. He has earned over 100,000 subscribers, and his most recent video is him sharing his appearance on the TV show.

Whether they're strangers on the internet or in person, the majority of people have treated him with kindness. But there are still some people who have asked him why he doesn't get rid of his facial hair. "There is not much to say to people about that," he told Guinness. "I tell them that I like how I am and I don't want to change my look."

Fortunately, unwanted comments don't bother Patidar, and he accepts himself for who he is. He also has a loving family who has supported the teenager's dream of traveling the world and learning about new cultures.
