It may not have been since the Budweiser Frogs that an animal associated with the popular beer brand has taken the world by storm quite like Mac, the newest member of the Budweiser Clydesdales family.
He joins 160 other Clydesdale horses at Warm Springs Ranch, the company’s stable. And we’d be willing to bet he’s not nearly as nerve-wracking as those frogs came to be. At his age, he looks just like a bundle of joy.
“Mac’s name is a nod to the iconic legacy of the Budweiser Clydesdales, the most macro of all icons, representing Budweiser’s quality for more than 80 years,” the company said in a statement.
The foal is already creating a massive number of fans across the Twittersphere and other social media channels, proving that the legacy of August A. Busch’s herd of horses remains as iconic as ever. Even if they don’t pull a wagon of beer throughout the Empire State any longer.
By the time Mac grows up, he’ll weigh a whopping 2,000 lbs. or so, which is typical of all Clydesdales.
“They’re big, they’re majestic, they’re regal and that never changes through time,” says the narrator in Budweiser’s 2013 Super Bowl commercial.
