'Mayor of Kingstown' Officially Renewed For Season 3

The series was renewed months ago but Paramount+ delayed the announcement in the wake of Jeremy Renner's snowplowing accident.

Get ready for more drama in Kingstown, Michigan, because Paramount+ just announced that the hit series Mayor of Kingstown is coming back for a third season. This acclaimed drama stars the talented Jeremy Renner and is created by Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon. It's produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, exclusively for Paramount+.

Mayor of Kingstown has been a big hit on Paramount+, ranking as one of the top original dramas on the platform. While it was in season, it even ranked third, right behind Sheridan's other hit shows, 1923 and Tulsa King.

The show revolves around the McLusky family, who hold a lot of power in Kingstown, Michigan. In this small town, the only thriving business is incarceration. The series tackles important themes like systemic racism, corruption, and inequality as it explores the McLusky family's struggle to bring order and justice to a town in chaos.

The show garnered mixed reviews from critics, with a 42% average on Rotten Tomatoes, but was overwhelmingly beloved by viewers, who handed the crime thriller a 91% audience score.

The series was renewed months ago, but an official announcement was delayed after Renner broke 30 bones in a snowplowing accident on New Year's Day. Paramount+ held off on the announcement to give Renner time to recover.
