Hear to The Mavericks Vibrant New song 'Damned (If You Do)'

The Mavericks just released new song "Damned (If You Do)" from upcoming album Brand New Day, and it doesn't disappoint. The Grammy-winning foursome keeps their form in an impassioned, if not dark, new song.

Combining a gritty distorted guitars, accordion and a squealing horn line, "Damned (If You Do)" is as danceable as they come. But the lyrics are a bit more somber. "A life all alone is a life unfulfilled," frontman Raul Malo sings. "You may not miss the hurt but you sure do miss the thrills. You're damned if you do, and damned if you don't. Damned if you will, and damned if you won't."

The Mavericks upcoming album, Brand New Day, comes with the band enjoying their independent roots. They formed Mondo Mundo Recordings as their own label to release the record. They're also working with independent label services company Thirty Tigers.

They previously released "Easy As It Seems" from the new record. In a twist for the band, the lyrics of that song largely focus on politics and warn of the dangers of building walls, physically and metaphorically.

The band plans to release Brand New Day on March 31 in the United States and March 24 in Europe.
