Matthew McConaughey to Teach Film at University of Texas

Matthew McConaughey is sharing his experience in the film industry with a few lucky students at the University of Texas at Austin.

The 46-year-old Oscar winner will return to his alma mater this fall to teach a film class alongside Hunger Games director Gary Ross and university lecturer Scott Rice. According to the San Antonio Express-News, 30 students will be able to learn the secrets and strategies from behind the scenes of McConaughey’s recent film Free State of Jones.

The University of Texas at Austin announced their surprising new employee through a video posted on their official Facebook page.

The class will be open to juniors and seniors, and there will be no extra fees to take this unique once-a-week  filmmaking study. However, students will have to be quick when they get ready to register for next year’s classes over the next few weeks.

US Weekly reports that McConaughey actually taught the same class this past Spring, but students were forbidden to talk about the course or its teacher due to nondisclosure agreements signed in order to keep a sense of secrecy over the film.
