MasterChef Winner Found Dead in Home at Just 37

The MasterChef winner was known for his nickname, "Red Beard". Fans lamented him as "a perfect fit" for the chef profession.

A MasterChef winner has died at just 37 years old. As reported by the Mirror, Eren Ka??kç? was found dead in his home.

His business partner, Mikail Malkoço?lu, had been asked to check on the MasterChef winner on Wednesday, July 29. According to Turkish-language outlet CNN Türk, reporter Sinan A?ca explained the events that happened in the lead-up to the tragic discovery.

"According to reports, Eren Ka??kç?'s family and loved ones had not heard from him for some time," they explained. "His business partner arrived at his home in Kilyos [after being asked]. After opening the door, they found Ka??kç? lying motionless on the floor."

"Immediately afterward, the 112 Emergency Medical Services were notified. During their initial examination at the scene, medical personnel determined that Eren Ka??kç?, who was lying motionless on the floor, had passed away."

"The cause of Eren Ka??kç?'s death is being investigated by the medical teams. Investigations are ongoing to determine whether there are any circumstances surrounding his death or if he suffered a heart attack. A funeral service will be held here for Ka??kç?, and he will be buried in his hometown of Tokat."

Malkoço?lu explained to media that he believed the MasterChef winner's death was from a heart attack.

Ka??kç? Won MasterChef Back in 2021

Eren Ka??kç? had won MasterChef Türkiye back in 2021, and has since gained over 740,000 followers on social media.

Following his MasterChef title, he opened up a restaurant in Istanbul named K?z?l Sakal Sandwich & Burger. The name comes from his nickname, K?z?l Sakal, meaning "Red Beard."

The final post on his Instagram page was a heartbreaking one - it shows him and his daughter posing next to a sign reading, "Happy Father's Day," and also other pictures of the two.

People in the comments mourned his passing. One commenter couldn't believe the news, writing, "Please, someone just say it's fake news!! ?".

Another commenter wrote, "May God rest his soul, Eren Ka??kç? was truly a wonderful and successful chef. We will remember you - along with your "Red Beard" - as a chef who represented Turkish cuisine well, did his work with precision, and was a perfect fit for this profession. ???"
