Massive Brawl Breaks Out at Softball Game: "Disappointing, Poor Sportsmanship"

A softball game turned violent after a high-tension match lead to a loss in the last minute. Parents branded it "shocking" and "disappointing".

A major brawl broke out at a high school softball game after tensions ran a little too high. According to ABC 30 News, the incident happened at a game on April 24. It was between the Central East High Bengals and the Clovis High Cougars in Fresno, California.

A video from the incident shows a really high-tension game. It was tied at 6-6 in the eighth inning, when the Bengals managed to score a last-second win. And then, things got heated. A girl went up to a Clovis High player, confronting her, and then things got physical. But we're not quite sure what was said before people were attacking each other.

It got pretty bad, too - fists were flying as players and parents from both teams stormed the fight to try and break it up. Even the spectators were getting into it, too.

The Central Unified School District said in a statement that they were aware of the statement, and were taking things quite seriously. They explained, "The district is aware of the incident and takes these matters very seriously. The situation was addressed promptly, and appropriate disciplinary measures are being taken in accordance with district policies." They finished by adding that they hold their students to very high standards.

Parents Slammed the Softball Brawl

But some of the parents from Clovis High were a little more brash about the whole brawl. While they didn't give permission for their words to be used verbatim, they did say that things were "shocking, disappointing and showed poor sportsmanship."

Strangely enough, no players were ejected from the game since it technically happened after everything was finished. But, Central Section CIF Commissioner Ryan Tos explained that despite this, there is a really stirct sportsmanship policy in place.

He said, "They're all competitive and people make bad choices. Not just students, we're seeing a lot of adults being ejected recently as well. This time of year, those ejections lead to missing time in the playoffs."

This is a really crazy turn of events. To be honest, we're just glad no one was injured in the incident!
