Hamilton Reportedly Hid Inside His Grandmother's Closet Before Attacking Her

According to a report by NBC Washington, charging documents say Hamilton was "lying in wait within the victim's bedroom closet." He reportedly attacked his grandmother between 4:00 and 4:30 AM. Titus-Dillon reportedly endured a violent assault at her grandson's hands. Hamilton allegedly stabbed her in the back, punched her in the head and face, and then strangled her. He then tried to move his grandmother's body and attempted to clean up the crime scene. The motive for the attack remains unclear.

The charging documents say he left the house in the morning, taking his grandmother's credit cards, laptop, and phone. Hamilton told a judge via CCTV from the jail that he wanted to represent himself. The judge responded by recommending a psychiatric exam.

Per a report by People, Titus-Dillon was a graduate of Howard Medical School. She later became a dean at the establishment.

The Office of the Chief Medical Examiner in Baltimore will conduct an autopsy to confirm Titus-Dillon's cause of death. Authorities are reportedly holding Hamilton in Montgomery County Correctional Facility. He has a court hearing scheduled for April 7.
