More than 30 people were injured after a public bus crashed into a building just outside Baltimore, Maryland, prompting a large-scale emergency response.

The crash occurred on Wednesday evening in Pikesville, leaving multiple people trapped and several others requiring hospital treatment.
First responders rushed to the scene, with officials confirming at least one person was in critical condition.
Maryland Bus Crash Leaves More Than 30 Injured
According to reports, the crash involved a Maryland Transit Administration bus traveling along Reisterstown Road in Pikesville.
Officials said the collision also involved "numerous civilian vehicles," including one that overturned.
Emergency crews rescued one person trapped inside the bus and another trapped inside a vehicle.
The Baltimore County Fire Department also dispatched a building engineer to assess the structural damage after the bus crashed into the property.
A second mass casualty incident alarm was issued shortly after the crash, highlighting the scale of the emergency response.
"Dawn and I are keeping everyone impacted in our hearts and prayers. We are deeply grateful for our first responders who acted with speed and skill to ensure the safety of our neighbors," Maryland Governor Wes Moore said.
"We've been in close coordination with local officials to provide any support needed on the ground."
Bus Driver Among Those Critically Injured
The Maryland State Highway Administration closed nearby roads as emergency crews worked at the scene and urged motorists to seek alternate routes.
According to Fox Baltimore, the crash happened at around 6:15 p.m. on July 8.
The bus reportedly struck a FedEx building in the 1500 block of Reisterstown Road.
"I've been in this community for over 30 years, this is by far the worst I've ever seen. The worst," Baltimore County resident Donna Webster said.
"My daughter used to work right in that FedEx building...It's just so sad hearing about all the casualties, cars scattered all over the place. I've never seen this."
Officials said the person trapped inside the bus was the driver, who remains in critical condition. The individual rescued from a nearby vehicle was also critically injured.
A medical evacuation helicopter, a Shock Trauma GoTeam, and BGE crews responded to the scene because of downed power lines.
Authorities have not yet confirmed how many of the injured were passengers on the bus and how many were occupants of other vehicles involved in the crash.
