In June 2021, Christina was diagnosed with multiple sclerosis, an illness she has been battling with ever since. Nevertheless, that doesn't mean her current health issues are tied to that battle.

When speaking with TMZ, a representative for Christina provided a statement on her current medical issues.

"I have no comment whether she is in the hospital or what her medical treatments are. She's had a long history of complicated medical conditions that she has been refreshingly open about, as evidenced in her memoir and on her podcast."

Christina has been incredibly open regarding her battle with MS, even dating back to when she announced her diagnosis on X.

"Hi friends. A few months ago I was diagnosed with MS. It's been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition," she posted. "It's been a tough road. But as we all know, the road keeps going. Unless some a-hole blocks it. As one of my friends that has MS said, 'We wake up and take the indicated action.' And that's what I do. So now I ask for privacy. As I go through this thing. Thank you xo."

Christina Applegate Recently Shared the Struggles of Her Illness

When speaking with PEOPLE in February, Christina opened up on some the struggles that she's encountered since being diagnosed with MS. One example she provided was how she struggles to take her daughter, Sadie, to school.

"I want to take her; it's my favorite thing to do. It's the only time we have together by ourselves," Christina explained. "I tell myself, 'Just get her there safely and get home so you can get back into bed.' And that's what I do."

Christina will undoubtedly continue to share her battle with MS with her fans. In many ways, what she's doing is both brave and refreshing, as she sheds light on an illness that affects millions worldwide. Christina is using her platform for the right reasons, even if its because of heartbreaking circumstances.
