Maybe you have known married couples who are true soulmates. Being apart from each other is unthinkable. That was probably true of John Ridley Trice and his wife, Alice Moss Trice. Both were in their nineties. The Tennessee pair tied the knot on November 11, 1955, and were virtually inseparable for over 70 years. Per People, the Trices passed away on Thursday, April 2, "within hours of each other," in their Lebanon, Tennessee, home.

John died at approximately 1:00 p.m. Alice followed him about nine hours after. They left this world just as they had inhabited it for decades, by each other's loving side.
Their Daughter Affirmed Her Parents' Incredibly Close Bond
According to their daughter, Angela, per WSMV4, "You never said one name and didn't think of the other. Truly one of them would not have wanted to live without the other and they didn't have to." She added that her parents "actually met at a Green Hills club at a square dance." That humble beginning led to a beloved union that endured through thick and thin over so many years.
Did they have a philosophy of married life that sustained them? Yes, apparently they did. According to Angela, "You know, Dad used to say put [G]od first and then be there for each other."
The Couple Launched the Wilson County Fair in the 1970s
The Trices inaugurated the popular local event in 1979, per the outlet. John was its first president, while Alice began the flower show. It's still an honored tradition. The Trices' daughter, Angela, explained, "It was his love. I mean everything about this county. He truly wanted to make it a better place and I believe they both left it better than they found it."
The Fair even boasts a road named for John Trice.
The Fair's president, Randall Clemons, said appreciatively of them, "They were a great example of a couple that was heavily involved in their community and gave back in every way possible,"
John Ridley Trice and Alice Moss Trice's devotion to each other and to their Tennessee community will surely be the couple's most fitting, everlasting legacy.
