The incident occurred at a game involving two 12-year-old select softball teams at Imperial Park.

Kiarious Hall and his wife, Jazmine Hall, were attending their daughter's game with Illusions Gold 2033 when the altercation began, according to court documents. Kiarious Hall told police that another man, who was associated with the opposing team, Timbergrove Thunder, approached him and told him that he cannot cheer before a player pitches.

Hall said he continued cheering, which sparked an argument.

According to the affidavit, Hall said that one man elbowed him and another poked him in the chest. He then struck one of the men in the face, which caused him to lose consciousness. Hall told police that he acted in self-defense.

A video reviewed by investigators allegedly showed Hall striking a man in the face with a metal water bottle, knocking him to the ground unconscious.

He is also accused of striking a second man, a grandfather named Gary Greaser, who tried to separate the two men after Hall's first strike.

"I said 'You can't do this.' I took him, I wanted to disarm the guy. Because he's going to do it to somebody else," Greaser said.

"We're saying 'Hey, why are you getting loud?' It's bad sportsmanship to do it right as the pitch comes up when our girls are batting. And that's all it took. He just flipped and said, 'I can do whatever I want. I can say whatever I want. And you can't stop me.'"

Court records also noted Jazmine Hall allegedly joined the melee and pushed Greaser before both of them fell into bushes and bystanders separated the two parties.

Kiarious Marshun Hall and Jazmine Hall were both arrested after the brawl. The married couple was booked at Fort Bend County Jail.

Court documents show Kiarious Hall was charged with assault causing bodily injury. Jazmine Hall was also arrested on a misdemeanor assault charge involving bodily injury, according to the affidavit.

Jazmine Hall was an assistant principal at Lamar Junior High School in the Lamar Consolidated Independent School District. The district confirmed that she voluntarily reported the incident to its Human Resources Department over the weekend. Hall resigned from her position effective Monday, Oct. 26.
