She’s the “Best New Artist of the Year,” has a top-selling album that has already made history and is getting ready to check something else off her bucket list. Country newcomer and newly-minted household name Maren Morris is set to perform on the Dec. 10 episode of Saturday Night Live, one of the most coveted gigs in the music world.
Now in its 42nd season, SNL has been a launching pad for dozens of hitmakers across all genres of music. Morris’ appearance will mark the first time a country artist will have performed during the 2016-17 season.
The country newcomer shot to major success after her historic debut release of her first single “My Church” and her chart-topping debut album Hero. She’s been on tour with Keith Urban and Brett Eldredge over the majority of 2016 and led the nominations for the 50th annual CMA Awards celebration. During the award show, Morris ended up taking home the “Best New Artist” award just minutes after her phenomenal performance of “My Church.”
Morris is set to kick off her first headlining tour in Feb. 2017. The tour will start its run in New York and will include supporting acts Ryan Hurd and Devin Dawson. You can find a full list of dates at Morris’ official website.
