Map Shows the Most Popular Cooking Show in Every State


It’s Thanksgiving time! At some point during this week, you’re likely to park your butt in front of the television with a belly full of food. Alternatively, you may be watching cooking shows ahead of the big meal searching for inspiration.

Whatever the reason, millions of Americans are watching cooking shows this week, which got Cabletv.com to thinking: does each state have a favorite show? Interestingly enough, yes. The website created this map of each state’s favorite cooking shows by analyzing data about the top 100 food and cooking shows and information from Google Trends.

Some of these TV shows fit the stereotypes of the states they represent. Montanans favor The Wild Within, a show that follows hunter Steven Rinella. Oklahoma’s pick is The Pioneer Woman. In Lousiana, they love watching creole and cajun master Emeril Legasse on Emeril Live.

Here in Texas, the favorite show seems to be Top Secret Recipe, a show where author Todd Wilbur sets out to recreate the secret recipes of favorite American brands.
