Texas Man Throws Meat at H-E-B Cashier Over Meat Purchasing Limit

Everyone handles stress and rejection differently. Some people cry, some talk it out on social media, and some get angry and throw things like meat and lettuce. The coronavirus pandemic has been nothing short of stressful for Americans, but one Texan took it a little bit too far the other day when he got upset at an H-E-B worker and decided to chuck a steak and a bag of lettuce at them.

Texas Man Throws Meat at H-E-B Cashier

According to the Leander Police department, the man became enraged around 7:30 a.m. Sunday when an H-E-B cashier informed him about the store's purchasing limits. Surveillance video shows the individual getting angry and throwing the food at the employee then walking out and driving away in his white Ford Fusion. Police officers have identified the suspect.

On April 30, H-E-B announced product purchasing limits on meat products due to Covid-19 shortages. The current limits in the San Antonio area, Central Texas, Gulf Coast, Border region, and certain West and North Texas towns include:

  • Fresh beef, ground beef, chicken, pork, turkey - limit 5 packages, combined total (not five of each)
  • Frozen Chicken - Limit 2
  • Frozen Raw Beef Burgers - Limit 2

Stores in the Houston area, as well as stores in Abilene, Big Spring, Burleson, Cleburne, Granbury, Hudson Oaks, Midland, Odessa, San Angelo, and Waxahachie are limited to:

  • Fresh Ground beef and hamburger patties - limit 2 packages
  • Fresh Chicken - limit 4 packages
  • Brisket - limit 2
  • Frozen Chicken - Limit 2
  • Frozen Beef Burger Patties - Limit 2

This isn't the first time someone has gotten upset due to coronavirus restrictions. Just a few days ago a woman in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma decided she wanted a McDonald's burger at 3:00 a.m. She tried to enter the dining room and when employees told her she couldn't enter because of restrictions, she went back to her car and grabbed her handgun, and injured three employees.

We are all stressed, let's not take it out on the employees, okay?
