Who doesn't love a Philly cheesesteak? Well, if it were thrown at my head, I sure wouldn't!
According to People, a man has been arrested and charged with a harassment offense after allegedly throwing the deli staple at a restaurant manager.
The police explained that, "According to the investigation, an unknown male allegedly threw a cheesesteak at an employee's face before fleeing the location". Despite no injuries (except of the ego, presumably) being reported, the man turned himself in on October 2.
What allegedly happened is as follows: a customer, purportedly a food influencer online, entered Pat's King of Steaks. In case you weren't aware, the store touts itself as the original joint selling the iconic sandwiches.
He then went on to film at the restaurant before receiving his food. Security camera footage obtained by several outlets shows the man seemingly "ripping the sandwich apart by hand" before coming back to the service window.
The general manager of the store claims that the suspect seemed like someone "trying to make a little name for himself." "I knew exactly what he was doing," he said of the incident.

The Man Has Been Charged Following the Philly Cheesesteak Throw
The owner of the store, Frank Olivieri, then went on to allege that "the guy picked the sandwich up... Threw it in his face, and ran off—the coward."
"He wants to be an influencer. He wants to be famous... stop hiding behind a keyboard, stop hiding behind the camera," Olivieri added.
Following the wild incident, Pat's King of Steaks released a statement vowing to catch the suspect, per People. Olivieri said, "He assaulted my employee, so we'll see how many of his friends that he has online are really his friends, see who's going to turn him in first."
He said that he was willing to offer $5,000 to find him. "The power of the camera, AI, we'll find him... we'll find him," he vowed. "We'll pull him out of whatever rock he's living under right now."
This is an absolutely wild incident, and we hope that the manager is okay after getting assaulted via cheesesteak!
