Authorities are accusing a man of allegedly trying to run over his girlfriend, who is pregnant with their two children.

According to a report by the Star Advertiser, the incident occurred on April 8 at around 11:40 AM. Police allege that 34-year-old Justin K. Ahkuoi tried to run over his pregnant girlfriend before fleeing the scene. At the time, police issued a $150,000 arrest warrant for Akhuoi and opened a case for second-degree murder. On Monday, authorities arrested Ahkuoi when he reportedly turned himself in at the Honolulu PD main station in the evening at around 8:30 PM.
The outlet explains that Ahkuoi has an extensive rap sheet with more than 30 citations. Those citations include criminal property damage and harassment. Ahkuoi allegedly tried to hit the mother-to-be when she was "changing her vehicle tire in the park." He reportedly drove up to her at speed and "sideswiped her on the left side of her body with his car," per the criminal complaint.
Authorities have not revealed the woman's identity, but she was reportedly in an "on and off again intimate relationship" with the suspect. She told police that she was four months pregnant with their children.
The Suspect Reportedly Shouted At The Pregnant Woman Before Driving Away
According to a report by People, the impact of the vehicle caused her to spin around before falling to the floor. Ahkuoi then allegedly got out of his car and said, "**** you and that he just killed their two babies." An eyewitness reportedly corroborated this series of events. Per the Star Advertiser, the witness, who lives in a tent nearby, told police that the suspect shouted, "**** you, **** you. I just wen' kill my two babies so I going jail now."
Despite the collision, the woman and both her unborn children are expected to make a full recovery. Hawaii News Now reports that Emergency Services transported the woman to the hospital, where doctors treated her for a broken toe.
On April 22, police booked Akhuoi into the Oahu Community Correctional Center with a $150,000 bond. He has reportedly not entered a plea, and it's unclear if he has a lawyer.
