Suspect's Brother Speaks Out
Reportedly, the New York Post spoke with the suspect's brother, a 56-year-old man who claims that the suspect was a heroin addict and that he had recently spent time in jail.
"I haven't seen him in a few days," the suspect's brother said. "He started staying out late. He has never done anything like this in his life — not what they said he did. I don't think that he did that. He's not that type of person."
The man, while sharing that his brother had many issues in the past, does not believe the allegations raised against him.
"They said he took his thing out and put it in the guy's ... yeah I don't think he did that he's not a pervert," the man added. "They're saying the police need to do a better investigation because my brother is not like that. No matter how bad the heroin addiction is, he's not like that."
As per PEOPLE, in addition to the male suspect, police are also searching for a woman who allegedly stole property from the man's body. She was wearing a yellow hoodie, black pants, and a baseball cap, similar to the male suspect.
