Hard Mountain Dew Is Looking for "Irrefutable" Evidence of Bigfoot
The alcoholic drink brand said in a press release that it is offering a cool million to close the case on Bigfoot's existence.
Hunters and outdoor enthusiasts are heading out into the woods this fall, which means it is peak Bigfoot sighting season. Hard Mountain Dew is putting a bounty on hard evidence of the cryptid. No shaky handicam footage or grainy photos, please.
"Evidence will be judged against rigorous standards co-developed by Bigfoot expert, Bryce Johnson," the copy states. "Known for starring in and producing a hit docuseries that follows a team of Sasquatch specialists venturing into the wilderness to prove Bigfoot is real, he brings a trusted voice and genuine enthusiasm to the hunt."
The Brand Wants "Verified Proof"
So what do you need to submit to get the "Bigfoot Bounty"? Hard Mountain Dew is looking for four of these seven pieces of evidence:
- Bigfoot Paw Print: A footprint measuring 37 to 38.5 inches long, found pressed 6 inches into solid gravel.
- Bigfoot Handprint: A clearly documented 13-inch handprint with distinct shape, proportions, and unusual characteristics for further examination.
- Thermal Imaging Capture: Night vision footage showing a 7- to 9-foot-tall heat signature moving at 20 to 25 mph through dense forest.
- Hair Follicle Sample: A tuft of dark brown, black, or reddish-brown hair snagged on a branch 5 to 10 feet off the ground, containing "unknown DNA markers."
- Audio Recording: High-frequency vocalizations, knocks, calls, or other unexplained sounds consistent with reported Bigfoot activity.
- Environmental Remnants: Debris or other environmental remnants with no visible machinery or storm damage nearby.
- Bigfoot Cameo: A photo that appears to catch Bigfoot photobombing you.
That's a pretty high bar to reach. But if you are over the age of 21 and submit your strongest evidence, you still may win a prize. The brand says 100 fans who submit their best evidence can win the cash equivalent of a free pack of Hard Mountain Dew.
