Back on October 19, 2024, Gursimran Kaur's remains were found inside a Walmart oven in Halifax, Nova Scotia. Following the incident, the Halifax Walmart was shut down for renovations in November. Now, three months later, the Walmart is open once again.

The Walmart located at Mumford Road in Halifax reopened on Monday, February 3. Nick Ritcey, who works with Walmart Canada's corporate affairs, talked with the CBC about this reopening.
"It's great to have our customers and our associates back in the store," Ritcey said. "Obviously the tragedy is still top of mind and it's something that will be sad forever."
Back in October 2024, Gursimran Kaur was at the store working alongside her mother. The latter noticed that her daughter was nowhere to be found for over an hour, according to the Daily Mail. She attempted to contact Kaur, but her phone was offline.
Eventually, the mother opened the doors to the walk-in oven and she became horrified as she found her daughter's charred remains inside.
Walmart Removes Oven
While authorities found no foul play involved in Kaur's death, the Nova Scotia Department of Labour, Skills, and Immigration placed a stop-work order on the bakery and a piece of equipment. After Walmart complied, the order was lifted. However, the store was closed for renovations in November.
Since then, the company has been in contact with Kaur's family and has committed to honor her, according to the CBC. "Three months is still very recent for that magnitude of a tragedy," continued Ritcey. "We'll continue to be in contact and make sure that we work out the best situation possible with them."
Back in November, the Halifax Walmart also confirmed that the store would remove the walk-in oven. It was confirmed by Walmart spokesperson Amanda Moss.
"This is an extremely sad and difficult situation," Moss said about Gursimran Kaur. "Removing the oven had always been part of the standard remodel program we are implementing across the country. Now that the stop-work order has been lifted by the Department of Labor, the oven will be removed from this store and will no longer be used."
Gursimran Kaur's death continues to be investigated by authorities.

How is this murderer going to pay the victims family 5 million dollars while serving so many life sentences? Asking for a friend.
They'll likely get what they can from liquidating his assets, which I can't imagine at 21 he had much. Whatever they can get will be split however it was decided in court but I doubt most of them will get much. If some random, misguided relative left him money in the future that would also go towards paying the victims.
He should go straight to death penalty!
The scumbag will spend the rest of his life in a Texas prison. He might end up wishing for death. And the wishes of the victims' families should matter.
In a Texas Prison and he killed all those people because of the "invasion of Mexican people".....Oh yeah....this guy will die.
Its going to be a very bad day for him. ?
