The event in question was the Electric Forest Music Festival held in Rothbury, Michigan. It went from June 25 to 28.

There Were Reportedly Clues Indicating That the Baby Was Allegedly Born Alive

Per the outlet, there was allegedly fluid in the infant's stomach and lungs. indicating that the child was breathing when it was born.

According to a July 1 statement from the Michigan State Police on X, "The investigation is ongoing. An autopsy has been completed; however, I am unable to confirm the results because we have not yet received the official autopsy report. At this time, I have no additional information available for release."

Much is still not clear at this point. The baby's gender and cause of its death have not been announced, nor the identity of the mother, if it is even known.

A Retired Michigan State Police Detective Described How the Investigation Will Probably Proceed

Lew Langham, a retired MSP detective, spoke to Fox17 about how he thinks the investigation into the baby's death will go. He is not associated with the investigation; Langham was presumably speaking from his experience

"What police are actually looking for are persons of interest," he explained. "What happened, who was it and why did they do this?"

Authorities will be collecting evidence, analyzing it carefully, and following that trail. That means amassing videos and photos. Any dash cam and body cam footage from police on scene may help. Local hospitals may also be contacted to see if they treated any women who recently had a baby. The infant's DNA may also be checked for clues.

Lew Langham added, "These incidents are few and far between. In this particular case, you're just looking for someone who can help explain what happened."
